Why Go To....
F is for Faraday.Everyone asks, "Where are you headed?"- Faraday - "Faraday, what for? There's nothing there". And so it was. But this is all about the journey and it was a great route. Obviously a well worn cyclist training route as there were lots of signs - no trucks and hills- one in particular, which we ended up walking the last part - it was just too steep. But what a run down. I passed a tractor then had to double back to take the photo. From Faraday to Chewton - 9kms- was a beautiful winding downhill round Golden Point lake then we went into the Chewton pub for cold bubbles. Interesting character behind the bar - gave us a tour of the "cells", potted history of the building and very cold drinks. I'm sure we could have stayed there for the night but we continued the downhill to Castlemaine. This time we found the Big 4 only to see on the noticeboard that Maldon ( tomorrow) is having an Easter festival ( the seem to be really common in Victoria). Booked ahead for a campsite -just as well Luke is good at sweet-talking as it took some convincing to get a tent site for one night. We have the next two nights after that all arranged - sharing with another bunch of cyclists at Pyramid Hill on Saturday. But first we have to find "G".
